Active as an artist, arts instructor, and community member, Madeleine Greenway’s art focuses on food and food production, and the role food has to play in human relationships. Working in pencil crayon, relief printing, and silkscreen, she is located in Regina, Saskatchewan on Treaty 4 territory. She graduated from the Alberta University of the Arts (then Alberta College of Art and Design) with a BFA in Printmaking and completed her MFA at the University of Regina.
“My work is centred around how people navigate relationships to each other and land through food, with my home garden and kitchen serving as the primary site of my investigations. Although my motivations for gardening are serious matters—feeding my family, maintaining my own physical and mental health, and creating food in a less destructive manner—the garden is also a site of joy and play.”
