Grasslands Gallery Online offers an enthusiastic welcome to a new artist this week. Meet Diane Larouche Ellard and her contemporary landscape painting in acrylic and mixed media.
Diane Larouche Ellard is a painter and mixed media artist living in Saskatchewan who exhibits her artwork throughout the province. She’s passionate about images expressed in colour, pattern and line, finding it irrelevant whether those images are realistic, whimsical, photographic, or completely abstract.
As Diane says, “I feel a visceral connection to what I see around me, to places, the land, the prairies and our sky. The paintings here are about the ‘macro’ and ‘micro’ landscapes of Saskatchewan. The ‘macro’ includes our living skies and prairie vistas, northern lakes, and country roads; the ‘micro’ are those tiny landscapes found in gardens, ditches, and flowerbeds, those often subtle and overlooked miniature vistas found in our own backyards and farmyards.“
Diane has many lovely artworks on the gallery website. You can see them here.
