For our April update, we present new beautiful Saskatchewan art by three of our favourite* artists, available from our website with worldwide shipping. Spring has been slow this year in Val Marie, Saskatchewan, worldwide corporate headquarters of Grasslands Gallery Online. But our artists are looking forward to brighter weather and clear skies.
In the painting above, the third of three current paintings focusing on the coast of western Ireland, Ian Goodwin continues an exploration of mountains in three countries on two continents. This may not be typical Saskatchewan visual content, but the paintings are so vivid, they make us feel right at home.
And in case you missed Ian Goodwin’s earlier looks at this beautiful region, here are two more, also available through the gallery. Left: “High Wind, Low Tide“, Right: “Rain on the Mountain“, both oil on cradled panel, 6″ x 6”. Just click on any of the images to be taken right to Ian’s gallery page.
Catherine Macaulay’s rich watercolours completely remove any idea that this medium needs to be washy and pale. She has such command of her materials, it seems she can make them into whatever she wants.
In a three painting series, Catherine brings us a close view at the richness of peonies, perhaps past their first bloom. Yet though they’re no longer young, through this artist’s eyes they retain all their beauty and remain almost more than fully alive.
For two more works in the series, click on the images above to be taken directly to Catherine Macaulay’s gallery page at Grasslands Gallery Online. All can be purchased on the site and shipped worldwide.
From Laureen Marchand’s current images inspired by the weather and the sky and the ways that feathers bring gold into both of them, she celebrates what’s beautiful around us so we might understand how the clarity of this world is worth saving.
In this series, “World Without End“, Laureen is creating miniature paintings we can hold in our hands, an inspiration for nature-based solutions offering hope in our current climate crisis. Click on any of the images to be taken to Laureen’s gallery page on the website.
