Saturday, June 10 is the third annual provincially-declared Saskatchewan Art Gallery Day in this province, and Grasslands Gallery Online is participating big time!
First, we have a pop-up exhibition Thoughts of a Prairie Summer at Prairie Wind & Silver Sage – Friends of Grasslands, the internationally recognized EcoMuseum located in Val Marie SK, with representation from 10 artists who show with Grasslands Gallery Online. It opens with free lemonade and cookies from 2 to 5 pm on the day.
The image above is of Prairie Wind & Silver Sage, with a sidewalk sign that’s an invented version of the real one that will show up this week attached to a rail fence outside the museum. You can click on the image to explore the museum further. The real sign will be attached to the fence because there isn’t a sidewalk there, and because if it weren’t attached to something, our famous southwest Sask winds would blow it away! The images below are installation shots from the exhibition.

If you can’t make it over to Val Marie this summer – and you should! – there’s a virtual version of the same show HERE. The exhibition continues until September 3 in both locations.
